Qualtrics is one of the largest experience management platforms, and for big survey programs it is often the right choice. But many CX teams find that most of their feedback does not come from surveys at all. It comes from customer emails, phone calls and support tickets.
This page covers six alternatives, who each one suits, and how to choose.
Last updated October 2026. Written by the StatQuestions team. We make one of the tools on this page, so we have tried to be fair and stick to what each vendor says about itself.
When Qualtrics is still the right choice
Keep Qualtrics if you run large survey programs across many business units, need advanced survey design and research tools, and have staff to manage the platform. It covers surveys, reviews, social listening and contact center feedback, and includes AI analysis of comments.
Why teams look elsewhere
Cost for smaller teams. Qualtrics prices by quote based on the volume of interactions, which can be a lot for a mid-size CX team.
Time to run it. Reviewers often mention a learning curve and the need for dedicated admins.
Survey-first design. If most of your feedback is emails and calls, you may want a tool built around that data first.
Knowing what is real. Dashboards show movement, but teams still ask whether a change is significant or just noise.

Where it stands out
Drill-down from a theme to the cases to the customer’s own words
Statistical tests on trends, so you know what is significant
We set up the import with you, from any system
No caps on how many interactions you analyze

How to choose
Start with where your feedback lives. If it is mostly surveys, stay with a survey platform. If it is mostly emails, calls and tickets, pick a tool built for that.
Ask how the tool proves a trend. Can it tell you whether a jump in complaints is significant, or only that the number went up?
Check the drill-down. You should be able to go from a chart to the actual customer sentences in a couple of clicks.
Ask about getting your data in. Find out who builds the import and how long it takes.
Ask about limits. Some tools cap responses or interactions by plan.
What is the best Qualtrics alternative for a CX team?
It depends on what you mainly need. If you send a lot of surveys and want one enterprise platform, Medallia is the closest match. If your feedback mostly arrives as emails, calls and tickets and you want to analyze it all together with real statistics, StatQuestions fits. Chattermill and Thematic suit teams that want AI themes across many feedback sources, and Enterpret and Birdie suit product-led and support-heavy companies.
Why do teams look for alternatives to Qualtrics?
The most common reasons are cost for smaller teams, the time it takes to set up and run, and a survey-first design when much of the feedback actually comes from support emails and calls. Qualtrics is a strong platform, so the right answer for many large survey programs is to keep it.
Can I analyze feedback that is not from surveys?
Yes. Most tools on this page take more than surveys. StatQuestions was built for unstructured feedback such as customer emails, call transcripts and survey comments, and works with you to set up an import from whatever system holds your data.
Do these tools publish their prices?
Mostly no. Qualtrics, Medallia, Chattermill, Enterpret and Birdie price by quote. StatQuestions scopes its CX and employee experience work on a call, and its Survey Engine is $500 a year with 5 seats and no response caps.
